a blog, but it’s really a vblog…

Check out today’s edition.

If you like Donald Trump, don’t read this one. He’s dumb.

27 04 2011

My first game was last night.   We lost, but man did I have fun!  I’m pretty much a natural. Colombia should be recruiting me to their national team anytime….

Here’s a pic of me in my full garb, getting ready to fake kick.  Yes. I did war paint. Yes. My socks are bright red.  Yes. My shoes are gray and pink.  Yes. I’m a fashion catastrophe.  But I’m still awesome.

I’m playing with my friends Vanessa and Mandy.  I stole this picture from V’s blog.

V dubbed us: Jill the Kill, The Crippler, and Malicious Mandy.

Watch your back, fiends.  We’re looking for a blue card.

Everything about him makes me want to throw my shoe at him.  He’s obnoxious. He’s entitled. He’s bossy.  He’s orange.  And he’s an idiot.  NOW, he is demanding records from Harvard because Obama isn’t smart enough to have gotten in.  Apparently, ALL of America since Obama’s birth has been conspiring to make him president even though he has no right to it.

Worse, people are buying into this!!  If you are one that buys into it, stop reading here.  Or at least skip to the next section.  It’s silly.  I hate that the only way Trump can make himself appear presidential is to show how unpresidential everyone else is.  When it’s all said and done, Trump looks like a viable option for those who get on board with his senseless, propagandizing name-calling because he’s made everyone else look the fool.  It’s school yard bullying puffed up with money and bad hair.

Dear Don-Don, as a concerned and intelligent voter, I’d like to know what you actually stand for.  Stop telling me why Obama’s not a good candidate and start telling me why you are.  Stop interrupting your interviewers before they can ask you a question.  And stop ignorantly confessing your plans to commit war crimes by stealing oil to compensate for our military assistance.  It’s illegal and you won’t get away with it no matter how many billions of dollars you have.  You are a true-blue idiot.  And I’ll bet (not in one of your casinos though) that if a republican were in office, you’d be trying to take the Democratic nom.  Please just stop before you say one more stupid thing.  Your hair is stupid enough.  Love, Jill.

I thought I’d post a few of my favorite tweets about Donald Trump:

Donald Trump being sworn in as President would be a great last scene in a Planet of the Apes remake.

Donald Trump calling DeNeiro ‘not the brightest bulb’ is like Gary Busey calling Donald Trump ‘presidential material’ LOL!!!
Hey Donald Trump, put a sock in it.

Have found Donald Trump’s birth certificate. He was born in Hawaii, but before it was a state. This is getting complicated.
If Donald Trump becomes president I’m Canadian…
Please, please ,please tell me that Donald Trump didn’t question how Obama got into Harvard. Oh my God… please say I read wrong.
One positive to Donald Trump as President – he wouldn’t be able to put up tacky looking buildings in NYC for at least 4 years…
Today in History:
1986: Nuclear explosions in Chernobyl
You should go here for more of the story, but suffice it to say this:
Chernobyl was catastrophic.  The effects of it are still being noted.  Ukraine has suffered an increase in birth defects and cancers since the explosion.  The land near the plant is uninhabitable.  People lost their homes.  And there are people in Ukraine, people I met the summer I spent there, that remember that day.  Even though time and distance separate us from this event, let us not forget those who are remembering their grief today.

On Wolfpack, the Thesis Chronicles, and Trump/Sheen 2012

25 04 2011

It’s been a few days since I’ve been able to post. I apologize to my faithful followers. I have actually been busy at work and haven’t been pleased with any of my attempts to vblog. So, here we go:

Wolf pack:

I joined an indoor soccer team called Wolf pack. Our colors are black and yellow. Everything about us screams, “we’re awesome!” It’s a beginners team, and only a couple of the players have ever played before. Excluding 2nd grade recess, I never have. Hopefully I’ll actually get to play. However, I am a bit afraid of a few things:

1. Getting kicked in the shin. In 5th grade, one of the boys in my class broke his shin playing soccer. Ouch.
2. Scoring a point for the opposing team.
3. Falling down.
4. Tripping while running and falling down.
5. accidentally stepping on the ball and falling down.
6. Walking onto the field and falling down.
7. Getting hit in the face with the ball…then falling down.

Mostly, though, I’m just excited about having fun and meeting new friends. You should come check out a game. It’s gonna be awesome!!!

The Thesis Chronicles:

My personal deadline for my thesis is one week. HOLY COW! Where have the last 2 years gone? Anyway, I’m 45 pages in and I’ve completely exegeted a whole chapter of my passage. Only one more to go! Then conclusions, then cleanup! Lord, give me focus! I probably won’t be sleeping much this week. And I’ll probably be turning my phone off. Keep me in your prayers, lest I turn out like this:

Trump/Sheen 2012:

So, as you know, I think Donald Trump is a joke.  He’s an alright business man but that is not any qualification for office.  Because I enjoy jokes at another’s expense, I have decided that Charlie Sheen should be Don-Don’s running mate.  I have even started a campaign page 🙂  I’m trying to keep it up-to-date with all the dumb things he says.  I’m also working on building his cabinet.  So far, his hair will be secretary of homeland security, and Gary Busey will be Secretary of State.  Good fits, if you ask me.  Our country is sure to prosper under the golden-haired rule of America’s favorite colonial bully.  TRUMP/SHEEN 2012!!!!!!!!

Today in History:

1995: Dancer and film star Ginger Rogers dies at age 83.

Ginger’s credits include: Harlow, Dream Boat, It Had to be You, Tales of Manhattan, and Shall We Dance.  I wish women could still dress like they did in the 40s.

20 04 2011

Yesterday afternoon I text Heather and said, “I am certain Jack will come when I’m out of town this weekend.  I’m a little perturbed with him, to be honest.”

Well, once again, I was wrong!

Jack is here and I couldn’t be more excited.  According to Gavin’s facebook, he weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds and measured 21 1/2 inches.  The picture he posted is beautiful.  I’m not going to share it on here because I don’ t have their permission.  But, trust me, he is beautiful.  I’m going to see him after work.  I need it to be 5 already.  I need to hold him and tell him happy birthday.  I’m overwhelmed with excitement.

Today in History:

2002: Jill Nelson is dubbed Stilwell High School’s prom queen.  🙂  I know, right?  I’ve always been awesome.

Today’s blog is brought to you by the letter “W” for work – gotta get back to it now!

On Trump and the Thesis Chronicles

19 04 2011

Donald Trump was interviewed today on the Today Show. When asked why he thinks he’d be a good presidential candidate, his response was the following:

“I think I am presidential. I think I have a very high aptitude and I think I was at the best schools and always did good. I was a good student,” said Trump. “But there’s only one thing I can do, and that’s sometime prior to June, I can announce that I’m going to run.”

Mr. Trump, apparently your “best schools” didn’t teach you that, in proper English, you would have done well.  Now, I’m not picking on Trump for poor grammar. I just get a big kick out of the fact that his statement is meant to boast of the fact that he is well-educated.

Despite how you may feel about any Republican presidential hopefuls, this video clip is funny.  Just funny.

The Thesis Chronicles:

Last night I went to the library and worked some more on my paper.  I pieced together what I have “done” so far.  38 PAGES!!  I didn’t realize I’d had so much written.  I have quite a bit left to go, but I’m feeling motivated.  I also feel for the first time that I can actually do this.  I’ve been telling myself that over and over, but I believe it now.  I’ll be in the library again tonight and Thursday night…and Friday.  I love the library 🙂

Today In History:

1995 – Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building

I was 11 and living in Kansas when the bombing happened.  I remember hearing about it, but it wasn’t one of those “I remember exactly where I was” kind of things.  I was young. I lived in Kansas.  All I knew is that it was sad.  I remember writing a poem about it (it’s probably still lying around my apt. somewhere; I keep everything).  Now, I live in Oklahoma City.  The City is truly marked by the tragedy, but even more so by strength.  This photo, taken from the memorial website, shows people running toward the building to help – not away from the building in fear:

May our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the 168 people who needlessly died that day.  May we never forget their suffering or their strength.

Today’s blog is brought to you by the letter V for vblog.  Watch them. I dare ya.

Emergency post

I filmed this late last night.  It had to upload, so I’m posting it now.  Also, I can’t seem to get it to embed, so go here to watch it.
